63 students from 6 localities rewarded
On October 24, 2024, NHPC awarded 63 students from the schools in Batchenga, Ebebda, Obala, Mbandjock, Ntui, and Sa’a as part of the second edition of its academic excellence program.
The ceremony took place at NHPC's Nachtigal Camp in Batchenga, in the presence of the mayor of Batchenga, the sub-prefects of the six represented localities, the principals and directors of the relevant schools, as well as the students' parents.
Each awardee received a sum of 150,000 CFA francs in recognition of their outstanding results for the 2023/2024 school year.
A long-term program
Since its establishment, NHPC has committed to contributing to the local economic development of the area hosting the Nachtigal project. Education being one of the key levers, the company decided to launch the academic excellence program in 2023 to promote education and inspire the youth in the project area.
