The Nachtigal Project Recognized and Celebrated Internationally
On November 6, 2024, the Nachtigal project was awarded the prestigious Best Energy Project – Renewable Resources Award at the 7th edition of the Africa Investments Forum & Awards (AIFA) in Paris.
The three main criteria that set it apart from the other nominated projects in this category were resilience, leadership, and impact.
In the current context of climate change and energy transition, receiving such an award on an international scale is a great honor for NHPC and all the partners involved in the Nachtigal project. As a reminder, the project had also received the Project of the Year Award in the Multilateral Financing category at the PFI Awards in London in 2019. This new award further strengthens NHPC’s commitment and determination to complete the project, making it a benchmark in Africa and globally.
