The ceremony to open the virtual data room took place on May 6, 2025, in the meeting hall of the Starland Hotel in Yaoundé, the day after the submission deadline for applications to the initial selection process, which was set for May 5, 2025, at 6:00 PM.

This process marks a key step in the preparatory operations for the construction of the Kikot-Mbebe Project structures.

Attendees (including government representatives, KHPC officials) and remotely connected candidate contractors, observed under the watchful eye of a duly commissioned bailiff the opening of application letters and the verification of the list of construction companies that had submitted bids.

The analysis of these submissions will now commence, culminating in the validation of the final list of contractors eligible to participate in upcoming tenders for each relevant lot.

For reference, a summary of the project lots is provided below:

  • Lot 1: Civil Engineering, covering civil works and hydromechanical equipment for the dam powerhouse, as well as metal structures.
  • Lot 2: Electromechanical, primarily comprising electromechanical works and equipment for the hydroelectric plant, along with secondary civil works for the plant.
  • Lot 3: Transmission Line and Substation, involving the installation of the energy evacuation line, the evacuation substation, and plant-substation connections
